Description
62" Osiris

The Osiris was designed by 2009 and 2010 USA National F3a pattern champion Andrew Jesky. It is a full-competition performance level pattern aircraft, designed in a medium size to be less expansive and easier to transport than a full 2-meter plane. It is designed to fly on 5S 5000mah lipo batteries, or one-half of a 2-meter battery setup. This makes it an excellent practice aircraft for your 2-meter ship.

The Osiris is very high prefabricated. The landing gear are pre-assembled, the control horns are pre-installed, the rudder cables are pre-run, the motor box is completely pre-fabricated. These features and more will get you into the air extremely quickly, again great for pattern practice. Other features include: Ball-link control hardware, aluminum axles, included motor mount spacers, carbon landing gear legs, carbon wing tube, locking hatch latch, tinted canopy, wing bags, fuselage bag with carrying handle, genuine Ultracote covering, and decal sheet.

Due to its extremely precise nature, the Osiris is not only a superior pattern aircraft, it also makes a perfect sport aircraft. It will reward you with beautiful aerobatic figures requiring only simple control inputs, and lands so very easily.

Special note AJ Precision Flight Video:
The 62" Osiris is the subject of the Higher Plane Productions AJ Precision Flight DVD. This DVD is available from 3DHobbyShop.com either with the 62" Osiris in combo (see add-on items above) or separately. In this DVD presentation, Andrew Jesky goes through the highlights of the 62" Osiris build and setup process, and flies the 62" Osiris through various pattern maneuvers and sequences with a camera view of the transmitter sticks visible on-screen. AJ also covers many other aspects of pattern flight and competition and compares the 62" Osiris to his US-champion Krill Spark composite 2M pattern aircraft.

Specs:
Wingspan: 62"
Length: 65"
Wing Area: 725 Sq. Inches
Weight: 6-7.5 lbs.

Required Equipment:
Pattern Setup
Hacker A50-12S Motor
Castle ICE 100A ESC
5S 5000mah 30-45C Lipo
15x10 / 16x10 / 15x12 / 16x12 prop
(3) Futaba S9650 mini digital servos (Ailerons and elevator)
(1) Futaba S9551 digital servo (rudder)

Note: A pattern setup is not a general-purpose sport setup. This is Andrew's preferred setup to allow the 62" Osiris to emulate the performance of a 2M pattern plane and use 2M batteries.

Sport Setup:
Hacker A 50-16S Motor
Castle ICE 100A ESC or Hacker X70 OPTO ESC
Castle BEC Pro
6S 3700-4400 mah Lipo
16x12 / 17x10 / 17x12 prop
QTY 3 Hitec HS-5245MG Digital Mini Servos (Ailerons and elevator)
QTY 1 Hitec HS-7985MG Digital Servo (Rudder)
This sport setup is faster than the pattern setup. Note that if you use a 6S 5000mah lipo, you will have a nose-heavy setup - this is fine for a sport setup, it is not intended to have a "neutral CG" like a 3D aircraft. Please see the AJ Precision DVD for very detailed setup information.

Sold my other planes after flying this
I am addicted to flying this plane, don't see the point to flying anything else and will fly in my first pattern competition in a few weeks! You don't know what "flies like its on rails" means until you've flown this plane. Incredibly well built and durable. I had a few more than hard landings a week ago in 20+mph winds and another today. Barely a scratch on her! Any other balsa plane I've ever flown would have had me clearing balsa bits from the runway... This one is still flying.

Great Trainer into Pattern
I have the blue/yellow Osiris and I absolutely LOVE it. Its such a nice machine to learn pattern, something that I have always wanted to do. The color scheme is very easy to see in the sky as well. I would definitely recommend this plane to anyone wanting a great sport plane or even better a pattern plane to practice and get into pattern with.
